Adam Barker

Adam Barker was employed as a Research Assistant at the Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, working on a EPSRC Grand Challenge Cancer research project in 2008/2009. Prior to joining the University of Oxford, Adam worked as a Research Associate at the National e-Science Centre (NeSC) in Edinburgh. Adam's primary research interests concentrate on the effective engineering of large-scale, decentralised distributed systems, operating in open, uncertain environments. His research agenda is pursued by modelling, evaluating and building novel architectures and algorithms based on sound foundations in systems research.

Adam holds a PhD in Informatics and MSc by research from the University of Edinburgh, MSc in Distributed Systems and BSc in Software Engineering from Newcastle University. Complementing his academic experience, Adam has completed internships at Hewlett-Packard and BAe Systems.
