Adela Grando is a member of the COSSAC project, working as a Research Associate at the Center for Intelligent Systems and their Applications, School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh.
Adela obtained a European PhD degree (excellent cum laude) in the area of Formal Languages and Applications from University Rovira i Virgili (Spain). She devoted her PhD studies to the study of concurrent systems, in particular formal frameworks for the specification of multi-agent based dialogue protocols. Before she completed a MSc in Computer Science (awarded best student 2001), Universidad Nacional de Rio Cuarto, Argentina.
She is currently working on the specification, design, analysis and study of theories and formal frameworks with application in the area of Health Informatics. In particular she is interested on: workflow-based frameworks and concurrent processing, decision-support systems (mainly argumentation-based logic), patient safety (detection, prevention and recovery of anomalies during workflow enactment) and protocols of communication for multi-agent systems.
Adela is the organizer of the Center for Intelligent Systems and Applications (CISA) Seminars, School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh.
